Noah's Ark - Talk About a Promise

Okay, I have a passionate interest in archaeology. I follow all kinds of stories. Recently, I've been paying more attention to the potential site of Noah's Ark in Turkey.

There is an "anomaly" in the ground that is shaped like a large boat. It is located in the Mountains of Ararat. It measures nearly exactly to the Biblical measurements. Ground scans reveal evidence of "lines" in the soil at regular intervals. There is an ancient altar nearby. There are drogue stones (like anchors) in the area. Ancient texts record visits to the site and it was commonly known to be Noah's Ark.

I've also done my own research on what shipwrecks look like just after a few centuries. The resemblance is uncanny.

I could go on and on. For me, the weight of evidence is plenty to show this anomaly is Noah's Ark.

There are plenty of scoffers. Clearly, to them, this is a naturally occurring object that just happens to be shaped like a boat on Mt Ararat.  I find it fascinating that Peter said in the last days people would scoff at the flood. For some people, no evidence will ever be good enough.

As I was listening to a podcast the other day about the latest evidence supporting the belief that this site in Turkey is Noah's ark, one commentator pointed out how loving it was of God to keep this ship around. It should serve as a reminder to us that HE cares for us, will protect us, and that we may have to go through some storms, but he will never leave us or forsake us.

I was really moved by that. This ship could have been buried deep in a huge mudflow or shaken to pieces by a volcano and forgotten. Yet, there it is. Four thousand years later.

I wouldn't be surprised if, just to make a point, the Lord shakes the rest of the mud off the ark and reveals hallways and walls! It still wouldn't be enough for some, but it's more than enough for me.

What do you think? Do you have an opinion on this archaeological find?
